21 Oct Where Has All the Kindness Gone?
In all my years, I’ve never seen a presidential election prompt so much hate, fear, cruelty, and obsession. The major parties’ candidates and their supporters bash each other.
The drama fills the news and social media. As I’ve thought about all the arguing and bashing, I’ve felt so sad, I’ve wanted to cry.
Kindness has left. Friendships are breaking up, and families are divided. Political tension is the norm. I’ve felt on-edge wondering if one more scandal will appear.
On November 8, one candidate will win, and I worry what will happen to our country. I just hope people remember that we are all Americans and need to work together as a group.
I hope that kindness prevails. One of my DADLY Wisdom dads stressed this ethic when he quoted Aldous Huxley—”Try to be a little kinder.”
Regardless of who wins, our country needs to unite to be strong and healthy. Perhaps, being a little kinder will help.
